From Light to Sequence

A 3-Year Journey That Rekindled My Love for Building

I’m excited to share that LightDotSo has been acquired by Sequence, the leading Web3 development platform for blockchain apps, games, and infrastructure.

Light was built on a bold, almost romantic mission: to unify all Ethereum chains—L1s, L2s, and L3s—into a single, seamless experience. From the very beginning, I’ve been part of the team as a designer and product manager, helping shape that vision into reality.

Over the past three years, I’ve learned a lot. But above all, one feeling stood out—I remembered how much I truly love building things.

That spark was reignited thanks to Shun, our founder.

Three Years with Shun

I’ve worked with Shun since the first prototype.

And honestly, describing what makes him so special isn’t easy—but if I had to try:

• He always sees what’s next, way ahead of others

• He learns faster than anyone I’ve ever met

• And he has a rare ability to identify what matters in a product—and turn that vision into real, working code

Working with him made me proud. “There are world-class engineer-founders in Japan,” I kept thinking.

Of course, not everything went smoothly.

There were hard moments—betrayals, personal struggles, emotional lows.

And I did what I could to support him through it, from close by.

Still, Shun never gave up. He kept building toward the future he believed in. Watching that was deeply inspiring—and gave me strength to move forward too.

Light’s Vision Lives on with Sequence

Light’s core was chain abstraction. Sequence brings account abstraction, real-time indexing, and best-in-class transaction infrastructure. Together, they’re solving one of Web3’s toughest problems: chain fragmentation.

Although I won’t be joining Sequence myself, I’ll continue building with early-stage founders through Zypsy—helping shape what’s next, from day one.

I’m genuinely excited about what the future holds.

Shun’s journey is just getting started.

As a Japanese founder, I know he’ll go on to make a global impact—and I can’t wait to see it happen.
