It was the beginning of 2023 when our team headed to Lisbon, Portugal.

At Zypsy, we have always been ahead of the curve when it comes to work. From the beginning, we have been virtual and fully remote, connecting with the best talent around the world and working with the most interesting startups. However, this freedom has come with its challenges. How do you maintain a tight-knit corporate culture despite being scattered across the globe?

Regular Zoom meetings, virtual parties, and the occasional face-to-face gathering kept the team feeling connected. This is where this retreat came about.

In January 2023, over 32 team members from 13 countries gathered in Lisbon for three days of exchange and fellowship. Some reunited with familiar faces, while others met for the first time.

This was my first time in Lisbon and I really liked it here after a few days stay.

It was January and the climate was a bit cold, but the weather was nice. Above all, it was paradise for me, a seafood and wine lover. After the company event, I booked an apartment and went sightseeing for a few days.

A friend I met in Tokyo had moved to Lisbon, so I asked him to show me around the city. In recent years, more and more people are moving to Lisbon, and he was one of them.

Although it was a short stay, I would like to go to Lisbon again to work remotely. When I do, I want to rent an apartment with a big kitchen and cook with local ingredients.
